Nice to meet some of you this morning. I know seeing all the different products has got the other half thinking more about where we can go with our ideas. I would have like to have seen less clothing stands though, especially as some of them were agents for the stand right next to them!! My wife felt that the clothing stands all wanted the "big" contracts and were not willing to talk to the small people. Will keep an eye out for next years show and hopefully I will be the "big" contract they are looking for. You are right Nik a versacamm, any size, is on this years xmas list.
Many thanks
Iain

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.

Had a great day too. Didnt want to leave. Lots of interesting things that I would like to consider for future. Oki white nice but at 2k need to start selling more tshirts first. Sun angel had there £300 white only printer to run along my already oki c610 which did interest me. Direct to garments from just over 5k were the dogz. And I even looked at embroidery machines from 3k which at those prices also drew me in. All in all very good day met a few dsf members sorry if I didnt get to chat to some others as Im quite a shy guy lol.
Now time to think where to take my business next

I must also say I was very impressed with nova chromes display stand, I've never bought from them before so would be interested in people's opinions on customer service etc. I was very impressed with there chromolux products and the very vibrant wall plaques they were displaying, anyone else see these,? It's got me thinking about buying a rich a3 sub printer now,

I must admit I thought it was better than other years. Justin the satin mug from Listawood is superb, they also have a new "little Latte" which is quite cute and is an addition to the Dinky Durham. I also stopped by TMT's stand and the coloured mugs they now selling OKI white system are superb. These are not like the ones Earl was talking about as they have been developed in the UK and P&P is the first place they have been on show apparently. 2 minutes and the mug is completed and it is dishwasher proof. The other interesting thing TMT have is the new mug box. If you have A3 dye sub capabilities then the boxes they are selling are an excellent finishing touch to anyone's mug.

Apart from that, nova chrome had A LOT of chromalux panels which I passed by and then there was the ususal suspects for clothing which again I ignored as I do not get involved in clothing. Also had a good chat with Ralawise about some of their add it on products and their new print and cut material which was good, they are fast becoming a bit of a one stop shop as long as you do not mind paying standard rates for everything.

DTG and embroidery in abundance as you expect at a show called PRINTWARE....

Found it interesting that the busiest stands in my opinion were Listawoods, TMT and Novachrome, so none garment companies.

hi!
Good to catch up with you lot! It was a real pleasure! Dave, Simon, Nik (and missus) and others... Thanks!
Cupcakes was lovely too! no good for my diet though :)
I love satin finish of listawood mugs. Novachrome did smart move and displayed LOT of shiny chroma luxe in huge sizes. I tried to talk to guy there (NovaChrom) but he turned out as not interested at all.
i noticed that with some other suppliers too. But there was plenty of great people that was just happy to help.
In few words, this was very good show for me.
versacamm is on my wish list now and i am going to aldershot where is my nearest roland show room for a demo and best price.

Sounds like you've had a great day guys, excellent :-)

Simon, interested to hear more about the satin mug, I do wish Suppliers would let us know when they're releasing new products so we can get a heads up, it can only help them! So the new TMT mugs looked as good as my sample here, that's great. I'd love to have a play with that. Will you be having a go? £2k for the system is still an awful lot but as they add in products like this it becomes more an more viable. Were the mug boxes presentation/gift boxes? I think I saw these on a photograph and did look very nice.

yes I will certainly be ordering a box or two, its a bit difficult for me in that I have to sit down and work out if I can get it to work within merchandising price points but I will certainly will be giving it as good a go as possible.

Not sure if its the same box or not, these ones are 70p each and once dye subbed look really good.

Personally I think if you are D2C then you are looking at a cost of £1.80 for the mug, 30p for the A4 sheet (presuming 10 boxes at a time), 70p for the box plus ink and time and VAT. So the whole thing will cost you about £3-4 plus VAT ish. Looking at the finished boxed product I think you have something that is easily worth £10+ every time.

I would imagine it will be a harder sell online but thats down to you guys to market :-)

Hi All

Glad you liked the DSF buns although some of them did look a bit more like OSF buns ;o) Good to meet some of the other inmates.

The TMT presentation boxes look really good and as our tall friend said, a great value added item for those of us who sell direct to the consumer. You really need an A3 printer though to make the most of it. I really wish I'd spent a bit more and had the A3 Ricoh instead of the A4 :o(

I can also hear an Oki white laser printer and flat bed press whispering in my ear!

saw the satin mugs at a previous show, think they will add value to orders (until everyone else undercuts as normal with good items) novachrome stand always looks the same at whatever show we see them at, but i always think it shows just how much you can fit in a small display area shop wise. they always seem to think there is only one way "the novachrome way" and that everyone elses products are poor, i would love to hear other peoples feedback with their customer services as i have a feeling they never have a faulty product if you know what i mean.
