Re: Ricoh 3110 Light Print issue

My Ricoh 3110 appears to be printing a little on the 'light' side. Occasionally looking slightly washed out. Please, no Star Wars jokes :-) Print quality is fine but changing Powerdriver settings makes little difference. In contrast, my 7100 prints the same graphics slightly darker.

I left both printers on whilst away for a fortnight. Had to do a head clean on both when I returned so it's something to do with this, both were printing identically before I went away.

Done the usual nozzle checks etc. just wondering if anyone's seen this before?

Hello

Yes I have the same problems, but I have not been using genuine inks. Just about to install the real thing to see if that is where i'm going wrong.
Fingers crossed it is

Sawgrass told me it was because my inks were out of date, not sure how this affects them in this way but that's what they said. Advice.....replace them all funnily enough! The Ricohs hold a huge amount in the lines though so that would surely have to be flushed through first.

@DJ - If you're not using Sawgrass inks, then I wouldn't expect your colour to be correct without the appropriate ICC profile for your printer/ink

How much past their expiry date are they Justin? I don't know either how this would affect them, but I would've thought expiry dates on ink were a sales tactic to a certain degree.

I could understand settling happening, is it possible to take them out and give them a really severe shaking?
