Meant to ask Paul, do you use a new piece of baking paper each time/

Paul, I've looked at these recently in ALDI and noticed they have a slight texture/pattern to them so decided not to buy. Have you used the ones with a slight texture on them? Thought it might affect the print on some materials.

it doesn't on anything that i print.

I bought something the same but from homebargains.
I have one piece to cover the bottom platen - Great!, but not easy to remove old ink which is a nightmare if your doing bags for instance, so i usually cover it with baking paper.
If I use a piece to cover the item then it sticks to the top platen when releasing the press, Which can cause ghosting

Baking paper I find works best for me.

I fixed a teflon sheet to the bottom platen cover and the top platen of my 16x16 and my 16x22 presses. Took me ages to find something that would make teflon stick to the surfaces, but eventually I realised if I put my balls in the right position it would stay in place.

Now I have the advantage of teflon but I don't have to replace the sheet all the time because I never seem to have a problem with image gassing transferring the teflon sheet. And It is quick and easy to remove if I do want to clean or replace it by simply moving my balls to a different position.

And with teflon sheets always in place items slide smoothly into position.

Ross, I don't think your balls will last too long doing this!

My balls are neodymium. Really strong even though they are only small. Nothing seems to stick to teflon and I needed something removable too.

Think a dozen really strongly magnetized ball bearings placed around the top platen and 8 more on the top for an overlap each side. Being balls they make it easy to re tension if I have to. It was a ridiculously simple solution to putting a replaceable teflon sheet on the top platen of the press. Wish I'd thought of it three years ago
