Is it as simple as just plugging in the Ethernet cable to the two devices. Do I need to do anything with an IP address or anything? Sorry I'm sounding really thick aren't i?

I also have a wireless EPSON but that is unticked when I go into devices. I have literally plugged the Ethernet into printer and laptop. I haven't set up anything. Is it something to do with an IP address?
