I don't think it's too difficult to do but I pay my hosting company to take care of it all as it's only £24 per year.

Who do you host with Justin - I've had my hosting account for years as I host several websites, but it costs me several times that - I looked to move a year or so back, but there were so many obviously shill sites recommending and/or slagging off various hosting companies that I got bogged down and decided that maybe better the devil that you know...

We use Go Creations. SSL certification is now free, we just pay to have it incorporated into the site.

I upgraded my website yesterday to a secure connection. If you have cloud hosting then many hosts have an option to add a secure connection using Let's Encrypt which is free. It's quite simple to do.
