Re: Delivery Costs

Post by DREAMGLASS »

I worked out from my eBay sales at £4.99 plus £2.75 postage that my gross profit was in the region of about £3.00. The real stinger with eBay though, is paying for all the listings that don't sell. Whilst having your own site is an option, you will never have anything like the amount of foot traffic that eBay does.

The most profitable venue is offline sales, but that means a lot of cold calling on likely ventures.

I hate to say but, you have to do cold calling these days to build a business up. This could be done in many ways such as a leaflet drop door to door which can be good if done in the right way. I have a friend who has a laundry business & we decided to go 50/50 on a few thousand leaflets as on one side he advertised his business & I advertised my business on the other side of the leaflets. It brought in some much needed business & it also brought me a few very valuable business contacts too. I like to call cold calling active footwork & if you do your research it can bring in much needed new business.
