The refurb market is often a good place to find bargains. Many times the word is used simply because, legally, the items can't be sold as "new". The item may just have been returned because the customer changed his mind (under the DSR, for instance), or a discontinued line. Refurb can be as good as new. I've bought several refurb items from different legitimate outlets (Amazon, Argos, Apple, etc), and everything's been as good as new - except for the packaging which has ranged from almost new to replaced.

By all means investigate the product, the price, the condition, and the seller, but don't be put off just because of a word.

we have a large argos clearance place near us, you get the same guarantee that you would at the shop and brill bargains always printers and stuff in there - most of the printers they sell are without inks

I have a Nikon Coolpix P50 which is a superb little camera. You can't go far wrong with Fuji as they always seem to get very good reviews.

The Gadget Show reviewed £50 cameras last week. They reckoned that the Nikon Coolpix was best value. But I'll stick with my SLRs :biggrin:
