It depends on what your definition of 'tacky' is!

Think this sort of thing says a lot about the seller. Is this what it takes to be ruthless in business ? If we all had to be like that I'd rather opt out.

dont know why people getting uptight or saying its tacky.
Anyone dies who is a celeb then its classed as fair game.Look at all the micheal jackon stuff for sale.
Or what about elvis he been dead long time but stuff still sells.
Or you may be thinking its way to soon - but the early bird always gets the first worm

He obviosuly got a good business sense as he beat u lot to it

Goldrapt, i was not going to enter that part of the discussion, as no doubt i would be hauled over the coals for character assassination - but when you look at their other items i would say they sail very close to the wind on a lot of what they do, but as we know with ebay so many people get away with using images which are not theirs to use

Cardman (sorry, I don't think I've seen your name posted anywhere?), I don't think it's a case of people getting uptight buddy - or even upset as he beat others to the idea (as many probably had no intention of doing it).
To be honest, times are hard and I don't want to comment on what the seller is doing and whether it's right or wrong, it's entirely up to the seller what they do.
Personally, I'm in this for the long run, and use this for a living and enjoy what I'm doing. I (again personally) have done memorial mugs for friends and customers for people (and pets) that have passed on and they were very tasteful as a memorial piece to remember that person, and not something that looked like it had been thrown together to be the first available (again, I don't refer to the item in question but a generic observation).
Ref the Elvis and Michael Jackson stuff, yes you are entirely right - those lost legends do sell a huge amount of mechandise but that (again) is the topic of another conversation as to whether the images being used are copyrighted. If I took a photo of Elvis (I'm not that old but use this as an example) the image copyright (hypothetically speaking) would belong to me and wouldn't be fair game when Elvis dies (if you see what I mean?).
The copyright question always crops up and to be honest is like a hornets nest with so many views from different members.

That's what I meant by 'tacky'...maybe I should have said 'hard nosed seller and in bad taste'?
