I made the same mistake so you're not alone, that was a week ago - like a numpty I assumed dye ink was the same as dye sub ink, doh! Since then I purchased a printer and ink package from BMS and have produced 18 different mugs which are now on display ready for sale in our shop and on ebay.
By the way, I had already purchased a printer which will work with the dye sub ink but as it second hand and takes 8 cartridges I decided to go for a brand new supported model. The other printer is now printing transfers, application instructions which we send out with our stickers and other stuff so it wasn't a total loss.
