I know its sounds a daft question but have you done a nozzle check or a maintenance print to check to see if your firing on all colours.

Blotches on Printed Mugs
Re: Blotches on Printed Mugs
hey everyone many thanks for your helpand input, the problem has been solved, although not entirely sure why?? i used that other mug machine from my friend, with the same prints, and it worked. am unsure what the difference was but want to thank you all, now i'm here i may as well stick around...lol
Re: Blotches on Printed Mugs
I have seen brownish looking stains on mugs where the element wires are nearly exposed after wear and tear. Anyway, glad all is better.
Re: Blotches on Printed Mugs
hI aLL. LATER WE DECIDED TO DO ANOTHER, foolishly i may add, and budgied another mug up. I don't know really why we did to be honest. It doesn't matter but it seems to me to be a pretty random thing making mugs, there are so many things that can go wrong. anyway thank you to all.
i think the post above may have hit the nail on the head. although my friend said that if the mug blanket was nearly shot and the elements were close to being exposed that it could cook the ink and turn it toffee brown, is he right?

Re: Blotches on Printed Mugs
If its the elements to near the mug or if its over heating then what you will see is a uniform wavey line on the paper after pressing the effect to the mug could take a few forms it might look like a coffee cup that needs a good clean or you may get similar lines to whats on the paper. where did you get the press from ? is it a decent one or a cheaper chinease import (we've all bought one of them ) You are right theres so much to go wrong in this industry and at the end of the day you are finding your way around with very little training as most of us have. luckily theres a wealth of info on this forum. For future referance pictures of the problem may help a diagnosis a lot quicker and result in fewer losses.
