Re: Is an OKI C610 and WOW the way to go?
Hi Phoenix
Are the backs full colour as well? If so you will need a versacamm (or similar) if they are bigger than A4. If this is a one off job then I would outsource the transfers and then simply add a mark up.
In theory you could use the 610 and white backing. However the old system of WOW was a real faff and to be honest I think you will waste more than you print at those sizes.

The backs just have names on them (so each one is unique) much like a football strip. So vinyl would be the easiest but most time consuming. I was just wondering if there was an easier and less costly way of getting small white lettering & logo's onto a dark tshirt - would yolo imageclip paper work?

Small white lettering yes - using the oki system. For large lettering on the back of a garment the cheapest is standard white vinyl that is cut and weeded. If I were you and presuming you have a cutter already then I would outsource the front left breast to someone who has an OKI White and then cut and weed the backs yourself.
That would be a good compromise on speed versus cost and is exactly how I would do it even though I have the OKI white system here.

How much would it cost for say 25 (presuming 6 logo per sheet) sheets to be printed then?

Not sure.
Sorry I am really busy at the moment so would not be able to take it on. In a previous post I gave names of other members on here that have the white system who will probably be able to help.

this is a job that you must not undercharge for, better to say no
I would charge about £4 each for the wow logo, maybe a tad less, and perhaps the same for vinyl cut individual names,
it is a £1000 job
or
you could work for nothing......

Re: Is an OKI C610 and WOW the way to go?
I wouldn't work for nothing. I can tell you I'd walk first before having a semi decent margin.
I can see the company walking away from this one though. My initial thoughts were....errr..... this looks like a DTG job with that many colours/variants to maintain some kind of quality.
I thought I'd ask around before going back to the customer and saying "Well... it's gonna cost at least £12-14 per tshirt" - to which the customer'll just walk. No gain, no loss.
I just thought I'd ask if anyone knew of a better solution before saying that.
Thanks to everyone.

Re: Is an OKI C610 and WOW the way to go?
A bit confused here
For the front left breast logo I think you can get 22 on a sheet. This is based on a front logo width of about 95MM. So based on Logo's cost of £4.00 per sheet then total cost to supply a front transfer is 18p each. Add a tenner for delivery and seven sheets will cost 25p per transfer (plus VAT persumably).
A garment costs £1.47 coloured from BTC plus £5.95 delivery so 150 garments are £1.51 each
Back print is a bit tricky but if I based it on a surface area of A4 then the cost based on TMT 123 flex vinyl is 87.5p per A4 (based on 10 meters at £42.50 + £10 delivery, 6 A4's per meter = 87.5p each)
So total cost to YOU without time, electrics, VAT etc etc is £2.64 per garment.
Time wise 150 transfers front and back will take about 5 hours if you go slow. So lets say its 7 hours. Base that on £30.00 per hour (for example) and the total cost of the garment is £4.04 per garment. So even if you said £7.00 per garment you are well in profit.
Possibly I am missing something and to be fair I am not a D2C business but B2B Merchandiser where things have to be cheaper to allow merchandise and shop mark up.

Re: Is an OKI C610 and WOW the way to go?
Yes that would be the case if the back names were all the same (which they aren't) so each one has to be created, plotted, weeded and placed individually. All the logo's will be different sizes (and colours) as the tops will vary in size from XL Youth to XXL Female to XXL Male. So you could have a red XL Youth top for William Hill which would require a small white logo on the breast with the colour bar underneath, with the name WILLIAM HILL in white on the back between the shoulder blades (like a football strip), to a XL Female Pink for Samantha Margolees which would have to be a black logo with the colour bar underneath (again at a different size) and black text on the back to Bob Mills XXL blue tshirt which will have a white logo (again in a different size to accommodate the size difference between XLYouth and XXL Male) with the colourbar underneath with white text on the back saying BOB MILLS.
If it was 150 tshirts all the same (or similar) yeah it would be that price, but each one will be bespoke so it's gonna be a lot of effort.
Not to metion the fact that the customer will probably come back a few times saying "Bob Mills said he isn't an XXL but an XL, can we change that. Also Samanath Margolees said she doesn't look good in that particular colour of pink, can she get Fuschia instead? AND wee Billy Hill has taken a stretch and can he now have a Small Male top, or perhaps a Medium top... can I see both and get him fitted up and I'll tell you which is the best size for him"
