Lots on posts on here that suggest that blacks go brown with Ricoh inks when you overcook at too high a temp for too long. 170 degrees is hot enough for SubliJetR inks and we press for around 140 seconds (assuming you start with an idle temp of 110 degrees if your press has this).

I don't know about times but I have a Mug in front of me with exactly the same problem, you are trying to get too close to the handle.

Also, Trim your paper to about 3mm from the print - it stops bursting out.

They are coming out so much better. Nik, when you say trim 3mm from the edge, does that stop the wavey light patches i'm getting at the edges? What happens if I go over or under the 3mm?

It does stop the wavey patches, cut them closer if you can - it was like the difference between day and night when I started trimming mine down. the extra white paper makes it harder for the paper to stick to the contour of the Mug - I thought it was the press at fault but no.
I wasn't told about trimming the paper - I just happened to be watching a pro do some Mugs and picked up on the trimming. trim to about 1mm of white showing.

You also have to remember that not every mug is perfectly straight when it comes to full print mugs, top to bottom

200 x 90mm maximum although 200 x 84mm will give you a nice clean line.3mm top/bottom because you're not using the full height of the mug. Alternatively if you really need top to bottom coverage just make sure the clamp is tight enough to 'just' squeeze around the top/bottom edge..............works for me. Good luck
