Dsr stars are what get you banned from ebay,
folks need to keep a good eye on their seller dashboard,
if low 1 and 2 stars go above the % and number allowed, that's it banned for life. 4.6 will get ya a ban.
For those that dont know how or where it is you can check it here

i think as long as you are offering free postage 1 day dispatch and next day delivery then dsr will not really matter, as you will receive automatic 5 stars from ebay for postage and dispatch times
if the customer dont contact you through ebay messages then you also receive 5 stars for communication
the only thing you are pushing or hoping for then is good feedback from the buyer for item as described
dsr are important especially for top or to become a top rated seller
but the more you work on your listings and offer the basics then just make sure you send out what the customer ordered and you should be fine
every thing else is automatic, ebay is taking the fun out of giving feedback ha ha

but that really is good to know viccar
i never knew they would ban you for that
what about rogue buyers, bet they dont ban them...
i had a mate who was frauded and ebay and paypal said he owed them £800, my mate was livid and tried to explain the situation that it wasnt him etc
in the end he asked if he payed it could he still sell his stuff on ebay, they agreed so he paid, when he paid they rejected that they said this and wouldnt allow him to sell on ebay even tho he got it confirmed by mail!!
but they did say he could open an account to buy, wtf??? it just shows its all about the money..
he has never since used ebay or paypal prob shooting himself in the foot but got to accept his reasons 1 customer out of millions wont hurt them tho

I used to be the Affiliate Manager for quite a big Sports Betting Tips service, I was always having people ask me when we were going to introduce alternative ways of paying as they refused to use Paypal - I never really understood what the objection to paypal was but a lot of people hate it with a vengeance !
I remember one particular chap who said we were infringing his human rights.. I always though he was a nutter.
I'm glad I started this thread now as I am learning new things about eBay, I must admit it has been a long time since I was a seller there and a lot has changed.
The thought of using it again myself even crossed my mind for a moment.

I think that your mate must have had a serious knock to the head to offer to pay that amount or that he was selling a huge amount of gear to rake the amount back in without batting an eyelid?

Love Ebay, yes it's not as friendly a place to sell as it used to be. But I've just had the best Christmas ever over 3 times what I did last year. Lots of Australian buyers.

I use ebay as a promotional tool and try to push customers who buy over to my website for the second purchase, (I sell gifts, even a hermit like me has given gifts more than once) I do this with a flyer offering a discount (I also try to keep my website prices a couple of pence cheaper than on ebay, if you take into account fees, they could be 10-15% cheaper and I would make the same money)
I can't complain too hard about ebay, sure I have to jump through a few hoops to sell, but I made 10x more in December on ebay than I did on my website, hell I bought a full mug set up mid December, planning on learning how to use it during the January lul and then start selling, I popped 2 designs on ebay sold over 150 of them and therefore paid for the whole dye sub setup in 2 weeks
There are lots of tricks to comply with and increase your listing rank on ebay without changing your business or busting your ass to get things out same day, (I don't want to tell you them, but it's common sense)
I don't leave feedback before I receive it, it's an incentive for buyers to get in touch if there are any problems, I disagree that all we expect from a buyer is for them to buy and pay, there is a lot more to being a good customer than that. Although I try to send perfect products every time sometimes I can make mistakes and I will ALWAYS rectify them if a customer gets in touch and explains the problem, on ebay you'll find people can leave negative feedback for stupid things that can be rectified very quickly if they had only asked, I know sellers can't leave negative, but not all buyers know that.
