If you have colour management set up correctly in Photoshop it is a much more powerful tool, especially if you put it into proof view with the out of gammut view on (even more so if your monitor is calibrated) as it will give you an onscreen approximation of how the colours will print out as well as show colours it can't print. Doing this with a custom ICC will give you the best colour printing accuracy available for your printer/ink/transfer paper combination.
