I've had air in the line for two weeks, finally got rid yesterday. Only explanation for me is a faulty refil cart letting air in.

what head am i looking for? Is there a part number. I keep googling but as usual it seems to keep coming back with every other printer number but the 9600.

I have come down to the mancave to find this.

Done a nozzle check

Still no cyan.
What is getting me is that there is not even a single line of cyan yet all the others are now nearly there. Could there be something else causing this.

Have you removed this set of carts since installing them? Be interesting to see if any ink pooled inside the cart bays.

Try priming the cart with a syringe as it were a refill cart - I've had to do this in the past to get Epson carts going.
Apart from that, it could be a bust print head, and as you've discovered these are prohibitively expensive.
Or you could have a bust damper on that channel, or a joint not tight enough.
Not sure if there is a pump per channel, but that could be an issue too?
There a few service menus, accesed by powering the printer on while holding down certain buttons, these can get you to INIT FIL, supersonic clean, and counter resets etc
In terms of Googling for stuff, the 7600 is the same printer just bigger.

I have been able to insert a syringe into the damper an pull the cyan through so I am thinking the damper is okay but it just won't come out of the head.
I have done INIT FILL, super sonic clean and reset my maintenance tank as that is full.
I may have to try and remove the head and leave it to soak before I resort to buying a new one.
I really want to get this going but I am think I may be throwing money away.

Youll be lucky to get a head as its been obsolete for a few years now, better off buying another 9600 or 7600 second hand it would be cheaper too.

Heads are available, generally £500/£600, I found one for under £300 but I'm personally reluctant to throw that money at a printer than can be replaced for not much more.

I have spent £180 on the printer and £350 on ink so a very expensive door stop me thinks. Anyone willing to make an offer!!!!
