GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR big companies bad attitude
Re: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR big companies bad attitude
Interesting story - but nearly all online companies have dual pricing. I tried to buy 10 flights the other day from Thomas Cook, online, but it wouldn't let me due to a group booking policy. I phoned them for a price and it was nearly £600 more than the internet price - lets say I didn't give them my bank details! but I did give them to Jet2
who where more than happy to accept my group booking.
Re: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR big companies bad attitude
At least there was some potential excuse of policy or terms and conditions (as in your example), i just had a load of excuses as to how the site was out of date, how hard it was to update, they couldnt possibly sell it for that etc. However if you click add to cart and purchase it, you still can (even now in fact).
The future offer of great support, guidance and great customer service were all somewhat washed away with a company that were proving so elusive to deal with, what chance when i was paying no money and did need support was the over riding factor.

Always found Xpres decent when having dealt with them myself. I guess it's down to who you see. I don't like TMT and find that most of them have bad attitudes but many others probably find them fine to deal with.
Were all of the items you asked for and were quoted for identical to the promo package or differing options? I would expect the online price could still be purchased through their website if you can add it to the cart. Seems strange. As John mentioned, many companies have a reduced price for online purchases. Personally, I would have nailed down pricing before taking a 3 hour trip and then adjusted the odd item in the package when there. Hindsight I guess. You can find cheaper if you look but many often regret going down that route. You may be lucky and get a good deal.

The package was essentially 90% of the startup plus some extras, but the savings for not having 10% worth of rrp value (£350) were less than £75. The explanation for which was out of date website pricing - which as i was pointed to and started from the website seemed rather odd.
In hindsight the pressure to go up for the demo was so they could sit me down and try to sell to me in person and thats sadly where there priority seemed to lie - or certainly the chap i saw. Perhaps if his attitude was different and the pricing policy different he may have succeeded.

I've got to admit that xpres are behind the times in there web presence - search for Xpres and it comes up with "Xpres 2010" - only a year out but this make a difference with 1st impressions. In the past i've rang to clarify mug prices and was told that the website prices were wrong!
For a forward thinking company you'd think they'd get the basics right.

Have you got all the kit sorted now? Plenty of advice on here if not. All different experiences both good and bad. Being a newbie I think support is always required so a printer package from a decent company would be of great help to you. List away what you plan to print and I'm sure there'll be many pointers. I'm sure no one will mention Xpres after reading your post
Good luck.
