It's update time.
Decided to go with register with a member of this forum Smitch6http://www.christianstogether.co.uk l http://www.christianhosting.org.uk
for the domain register and hosting. Now that all went very smoothly, and was simple even for me (with a poke in the right direction from Steve).

All I have to do now is build the Eshop.... how difficult can that be?

In the meantime I have had a name change as the eagle eyed will have spotted, had some PM's from members, and eaten. All rather splendid.

Ohh and paid some subs here (play fair and all that), and even registered with another supplier on the forum, clue 3 letters...

Stuffed, tired, and ready for bed.

Hmm
Seem to be having trouble with Filezilla. I have followed the instructions on the site, and it downloads fine, but then I get to a stage where the screen display doesn't match what is shown on the thier wikki. Hence I don't appear to be able to link it to my own host. This is the bit where it no longer follows the sequence in thier guide.

I have my IP address... no problem
It wants a port number.... hmmm
Administration password .... Ok I assume that's my password.

Without a port number it fails

Been pottering away since 5.30am as I was wide awake.

Need to do some family bits now so will come back to it.

It would appear that may be an answer. Much reading by me, and the same responses from yourself and Steve, hence I will give it a go.
Out and about for the day now, so it will have to wait until this evening.

Thanks for the input.

If you can not connect to your ftp you might want to check if your ftp connection is not blocked. I got this future with my host and i love it.

Port 21 is not the answer.

I think Iknow what you mean Paul. More reading for me to do. I just have the impression I am missing something obvious!

Check that Windows Firewall (or any other firewall software you may have) is not blocking Filezilla. By the way, I have the port box in filezilla blank for all my sites, try that.
