I just used the Sil Studio software.

Use the whiter side of the paper.

In the box of paper, the printing side is face up. If your image transferred fine onto HTV (don't know what this stands for!) then in theory it should transfer onto other products. The fabric or compressed coasters will give a matte effect when printed - try one at 200 degrees for 90 seconds and see if that does the job.

To give you a rough idea take a look at the attached. I have created this in Photoshop as a representation only but will give you an idea of what to look for.

The top image shows how your image will print out when the dye sub settings have been selected and are correct.

The bottom image is how it should dye sub onto the product you are producing

Thanks very much SocialGiraffe that was very helpful and neither my printer nor my transferred image looked like those.

I will check to make sure I'm printing on the right side of the paper, change my printer settings, and press longer and hotter and see what happens.

Hi so I did another press this morning. I used the normal text only settings on the printer and pressed at 190c for 90secs (FYI Martin I couldn't get the heat press to go above 190c is that correct? I dont' have proper instructions for it so I'm not sure if that's right or not?)

When you clamp the press and start the timer does the temperature then go above 190? A number of presses have both a lower idle temperature and then a pressing temperature. For some reason the menu item for setting the lower idle temperature often appears first when you enter the settings and you infact need to go down to the next setting in the menu to increase the maximum pressing temperature first and then go all through the menu back to the beginning to set the idle temperature again. If you do not have a manual then perhaps a photograph of the control unit may assist us in helping you set it up.
