I've used welsh dragon and similar pics, hope the welsh government don't chase me up, I only sold two honest your majesty.

I have been asked to use a number of different countries flags and wasn't sure if I could or not, and told the customer that I wasn't sure if it was legal or not!

Apparently, National Flags count as Cultural Heritage and therefore do not come under copyright protection. On the other hand , some City and localised flags do!. Also, the Maple Leaf on the Canadian flag IS protected!...as well as the Irish Shamrock. BUT, if you design your own shamrock or maple leaf which is distinctly different from the others, it would be ok to re-produce.
