Interesting prices - have you taken into consideration ink, paper, tape, electricity for running the mugs presses 24/7. Also, if your not vat registered, and the blank mug supplier is - have you included the vat on the mug purchase. Your prices just seem extremely cheap for sublimation or are you getting the mugs for next to nothing.

yeah john i figured it all in. Im not vat registered with this business and im figuring in from the prices ive been quoted inc vat. I already have margins figured into all my stock that are separate from the supply of the blank..ie the paper , ink, electric and so on as well as the over head for the rent of the shop and depreciation of equipment. Its all carefully worked out and it seems pretty accurate so far. Ive been in business for 26 years so i have good experience in business matters. It just this business im new to

Best of luck - really hope you get this order - I've worked my prices out and am nowhere near what you can sell them for. I'd put a few test mugs through the dishwasher 1st though!

26 years in business is some going, puts my 8 years to shame a bit.

on the last lot i outsourced, as mentioned a few posts ago, i made 30p per mug. i did not press them, i did not courier them, i just invoiced them, they arrived with MY delivery note, which was sent over as a PDF to the supplier - no pricing on it.

If I was doing an order in house for 1000 or 5000 of the same mug, and was trying to do it in a week/fortnight, I don't think I'd ever want to press another mug again, I'd be sick of the site of the same image, in fact, I'd probably end up having nightmares about it, lol

Good luck to you, hope it all works out.

And if I was to do it, I think I'd be buying at least a dozen oven wraps and doing them in a conventional oven instead of a mug press

update...ive had a quote from listawood for the finished article. Works out quite expensive. Of course because im not vat registered as yet... i have to pay plus vat prices...this is why its making more sense for me to do it in house atm. Its working out at around £1.63 per mug delivered for the 5000 batch and £1.73 per mug delivered for the 1000 batch. If my business was more established i feel that taking less with a simple markup would be fine but at the stage im at with this business im tempted even though i know it would be a mammoth task to do them in house.

Any thoughts??

Gor for it! You know what you're doing, you can set up a production line - go for it! Can you perhaps deliver in stages, 1000 in 2 weeks 1000 a week later etc..

Hmmm, that doesn't seem like a good price, I'm sure I can do 1 mug for that price, never mind 1000
