Hi Mughal,
As I said in my original post - its pointless importing for small qty's. Importing only works when qty's are large - and yes, import duty would be payable on delivery making it unfeasible.

To give you an idea of prices in UK - BMS, a supplier on this forum, are selling similar 100% polyester hoodies for £12.50 + vat so unless you were selling these at £6 - £8 each I don't think you'll get any sales.

Cheers John

Thanks guys for the tax information you have passed me. Well, Here we are talking about 5 hoodies till now, everything from knitting to stitching cost me as samples rates which are bit high than normal rates. The way i'm going to send through DHL, would cost you no extra handling charges till your door.

I still managed to bring the cost down :-

1. £9 for the samples for 10 Pcs include £2 for dHL freight just for samples.
2. £8.5 FOB KHI for 10 ~ 50 pcs, (include £1.5 for dHL freight).
3. £8 FOB KHI for 50 ~ 100 pcs. (include £1 for dHL freight).

We also send taekwando suit's , MMA shorts, Rash guards to a party in UK, he says that he only have to pay's 12.5 Vat nothing else.

They cannot pay vat at 12.5% - vat in UK is 20% at the moment. I think they may have been thinking of the import duty which is 12%.

May be it would be the import duty ( 12%) just, what about the revised price are the prices fair enough or still high for the UK market.

The prices are OK - whether you'll get any trade though is a different matter. For that little bit more people can buy from the UK, get phone support, and an address to send any faulty goods back. You're best of trying to attract business from the suppliers rather than joe public.

Business is a name of trust. We try our best not to send any sort of Faulty goods at any cost, coz it creates a big mess for both side, some it happens in bulk order with 2 or 3 pieces, we replace it in the next running order from the customers, As far as the small order are concerned every thing is properly checked at the manufacturing unit and faulty goods are replaced here.

mughal, i think you miss the point john tries to make - not many of the people on here are businesses - most work from home for extra income, they are not large businesses that can order 20/50/100 on a regular basis, Martin BMS has a business and would be able to buy wholesale. but this forum is in the main for hobby businesses.

some here do run full time businesses, i buy between 70/100 t shirts per month and 20/30 hoodies per month, but i buy 100% cotton as i dont subliminate my clothing.

Paul these prices are quite normal for the qtys talked about, the cost is in the shipping/importing, obviously when you import directly its normally in case qtys 144 same colour same size etc, thats where you wholesaler comes in, allowing you better prices for smaller qtys
