Is it definitely the righ blanket for the mug press as the wrong wiring to the plug (Apparently different press manufacturers use different wiring setups), could bypass the thermostat, and if it is pressing the same mugs with your old blanket then it don't sound like a faulty batch of mugs. Jack.
It's the right one but seems faulty Jack.

PROBLEM SOLVED

After doing a few tests today on some old mugs after changing back to the old the old blanket we have success & the problem solved.

It appears the new blanket is all over the place as far as the heat goes but, showing a constant temperature on the display. I've just done a few of the Orca mugs with no problems at all & the print is also perfect too.

On top of this the supplier was brilliant & replied to my email last night (Sunday) & that is what I call customer service.

A big big thank you to all of you who tried to help me & I'm a happy bunny yet again.

I have been buying ORCA mugs by the 500 for a while now, and I have never had an exploding problem, - ever, with any type of mug.
Occasionally, I get a carton with a few cracked ones in, - and they are always replaced no questions asked.
When I used to 'dunk' my mugs, - occasionally i would hear a 'pingk' - and know that a crack had opened up in the ceramic.
I recon you have a bad batch, - maybe the firing, or cooling was flawed, - so there are micro cracks within, that expand at a non linear rate and fracture the mug, - or, just maybe, the god of potted plants knows you need to do more potting, and is helping you generate more drainage material.... I dunno!
