What substrates need a base coat on this type of printing? Are there prints direct onto dark materials?

Dark and Clear, but 99% of the time you can get away with just white vinyl and contour cut once de gassed (unless you are leaving a border).

Thanks. That is what I was thinking that white vinyl covers most scenarios. Clear for window stickers seems to be it for what I would use.

Plus you can print rolls and rolls, then put it back through the machine for cutting (or a separate cutter! And you can half cut/perf cut which you cant do on a roland
very handy for die cutting.

My offer of coming and having a look at the machine and using it for some real jobs still stands. I know your busy mate and I work very odd hours so can do outside of normal office hours if it is easier for you, can even do weekends if you want.
