An easy way to tell which side of your vinyl is which is to cut a corner with a craft knife. Can't understand why you are having to press hard with your sign vinyl, what type of squeegee are you using?

No idea, but methinks it was released too soon as it wasn't tested enough...there'll probably be another update soon to patch the bugs!

the flex vinyl i have doesnt have a backing to do that with bud.

another thing - why do you have to mirror cut ?
i just cut this flex vinyl without mirror - cut fine and printed fine on shirt !!

so why mirror ?.......just cut on the side that your gonna be looking at - weed it off and straight onto garment...
so what im i missing ?

reason i ask is -
if i want to mirror cut on the BMS flex, i have to cut shiny side up,and mirror.....usually its dull side up and mirror for other flex

You can't cut shiny side up, it has to be the matt side. The shiny side is the backing paper (which you don't want to cut) and the matt is what you transfer to the clothing. The reason you have to mirror cut is because you turn it upside down so the shiny side is facing upwards and the flex design is looking back at you the right way round! Make sense?

Sign vinyl is cut vinyl side up and backing paper down. If you are going to stick it on a wall or sign etc then you cut normal way around. If you are going to stick it on say a door in the inside to view from outside the door then you cut mirrored.

T-shirt vinyl will depend on type. The current material I use is a clear top coat with the flex on the bottom. So you have to cut it upside down (e.g. shiny side down) and mirrored - so when you turn it back over you have a clear coat with your flex underneath that you then press and peel the clear layer off. I suspect that there must be t-shirt vinyl that you do cut with vinyl up but that would make me think you would have difficulty keeping any design laid out correctly unless you then have to use mylar transfer tape to move it?

On a positive note my sticky backed flock has arrived and I believe my rhinestones (although the mylar transfer tape has not as yet). So maybe do a rhinestone flock template later to see.

what you using software wise to create your rhinestone templates ?

@bigj2552 I am going to try the simplest method that will not cost me which is to place 3.3mm circles on a path in coreldraw. I have played around with this technique and it seems to work fine. There is an addon for coreldraw I think called rStones (or similar) that cost around $50 that looks interesting also.

Must admit I only ordered my rhinestones and a single stone heat wand from Hong Kong on the 27th July and they both arrived today. Typically the mylar transfer paper ordered from a UK supplier has yet to arrive although they say they have posted it.

I use the cheap squeegees at the top of the page and don't have to press hard.
