I think there is also a difference in the different Epsons - when we moved from our old 1400 to a Stylus Pro (wide format) the difference was day and night, there was no comparison in terms of build and print quality and reliability. It was like it was made by a completely different company to the 1400. I think it is a little misleading to lump all Epsons together, as they are not all the same. We don't have problems with ink flow or clogging, and have nice big 220ml refillable carts - no messing about with unreliable CISS or constantly refilling small carts here. Can happily go on holiday for a couple of weeks, and come back and run off whatever print orders that have stacked up. We are also then not tied to having to use Sawgrass brand inks, and the price and quality advantage that also brings.

I used to have an wide format 10600 epson. When my company was blown up (literally) by the oil refinery in Hemel, the building was flatened. Pretty much most of the kit was destroyed, but the perky little epson did not give up that easily.

We dusted it down, removed the debris that had fallen right on top of it, plugged it in at the new premises and hey presto perfect prints from the start. If it had not been for the fact that Roland have a print and cut machine with white and silver I would have purchased a wide format epson as I do think they are superb machines.

I do feel they are built like a tank, compared to the flimsiness of the domestic models. Not sure I'd want to test blowing mine up though!
