How do you find out if a word is copyright?

If you go to http://www.ipo.gov.uk/home.htm and use their search facility you will see what 'words' or phrases are trademarked.........Copyright doesn't protect ideas. The work must be fixed (e.g. written or recorded) There is no official registration system for copyright. It's an automatic right A Copyright work could be marked with ©, the owner's name, and the year it was created

Is this something that would popular?!?! If vinyl cutting files were created?!!?!??! Ignoring the colours obviously!!

I dont think that would work with vinyl, you would have to weed it out leaving behind all the facial lines = nightmare.

vinyl is hard to do very intricate cuts, and weed it out, & time consuming, it would need to be more like a childrens colouring page with thicker lines, and no more than 2 maybe 3 colours layering or it gets too thick. well in my opinion anyway.

Unless you start getting into printing on vinyl

Okaydokay, thanks ladies. Will re-think it!!! Got a BRILLIANT idea for some Doctor Who vinyls that may well have to appear on a t-shirt for my hubby VERY soon!!! Will be majorly simple to weed!!

Well although the idea of doing them in vinyl is great, I think a lot of us are interested in images that we can print onto mugs, mouse mats etc and they would be printed as a single multi-colour image.

If I wanted that image on a t-shirt I would use transfer paper not vinyl as in my opinion it is way too many layers to weed and cut and apply (unless it was for me lol)

Anyway keep the creative ideas coming - for a retro items maybe Starsky and Hutch or other 70s/80s popular show characters might work.
