Mine is 0.08 too, which pretty much means there's no air in there at all. You can't really get much more pressure than that unless you start messing with your vacuum pump.. but you don't have to. If I get good results with 0.08 pressure then you should too.

I'm at 0.8 I believe. My machine was fitted with a vacuum regulator knob at the factory. I had bought the machine and a small frame to do cases with film. The machine never produced good cases with the film.

What problems do you experience with the film? I tried it without any frames and it was pretty ok. The only problem was the front edges but I had the same problem with paper.

Most problems with film is the stretching/warping and the sides not getting enough color. Lots of fading on the corners/sides especially with blacks. Not to mention the film costs $3 every time I sublimate (4 cases at a time).
I use a completely different machine when I use film.

Well, I do not have any stretching/warping problems with film when I use it in a membrane press like this. I have them when I use it in a film only machine though. May I ask you what machine do you use with film?

I don't use film with the membrane only paper, I tried to use it that way but too many problems. The film would bubble when I lowered the membrane. I could never get a good solid print.
This is the machine to what I have to do film only (my machine has different graphics on front)

I also have the same red machine everyone else has with the membrane to do paper.

arty, thank you for the tips, from across the pond and the continent! (I'm in LA) A question: How tightly do you tape the paper onto the jig? do you leave some slack or is it super tight against the case/mould?
