Just to let you know, I have just been to my local post office and tried to send a package less than the 16x16x16 exception limit and was told it would need to go as a medium parcel as it was over the limit small parcel limit. Apparently the post office hadn't been told about the exceptions. Fortunately I had paperwork with me that proved the exception existed and was charged for the small parcel. This exception isnt very well publicised as it is mainly in small print.

That's worrying to be quite honest. I had a tube sent that I was quoted a different price and showed a local post office on my iphone the price it should be.
Then I had a nice (sarcastic) email from the customer who was charged the extra on their side. It took me a few days to resolve it and I could have lost a customer.

When I went to my Post Office this morning, they still did not have the price lists for customers etc.

Totally forgot about the price rise coming in today, a parcel I sent this morning would normally cost £2.20 is now £5.20

If I was on the mainland I could use a courier for £3 but these have to be taken to drop off points.

can't remember?
my point was that the missis often corrects the post office counter staff when they put letters through - not good news if 'we' know more than the ones that work behind the counter
