from a marketing point of view, having your own web site is a must these days....but having a bad one, is just counter productive...as it will do you more harm than good tbh
web sites are not a get rich quick scheme by any means my friend, and they take time, money, patience, a swear box, marketing and er...more money.
i aint giving any figures out, but obviously getting sale through your own web site is doing away with any ebay/amazon fees = more profit...but the hard bit with any web site is......getting noticed.
ask ANY of the long term members on here who have web site, then will tell you ( not much lol ) that it takes time
and the points i made above reflect that - what i will say, since we started in 2012, the sub/personalised market has become just a tad saturated to say the least these days- everyone and there granny is doing it now...and thats why you see some of the prices on ebay selling at stupid low prices -
noob coming into the business and not doing there research - thinking they can get the big sales in and have a regular customer base within 2/3 months lol...then finding out 6 months down the line - er... "i aint making much here and i,m busting my balls doing it"
so it takes a wee bit more thought and effort to generate the sales, eps from a web site today.
again, that comes down to marketing, and how much you put into it.
but on the other foot...eps where ebay is concerned, some of the low prices could just be sellers wanting to shift old stock ,or get there defect rate down quick-er, or trying to p*** off there competition on there or or or....
there you go my friend....
take your time, read A LOT on here, learn and learn some more....and i dont just mean how to work the machines, times, temps ect, take time and learn about the business you want to get into FULLY...before you commit to spending £,s on anything

...unless you already have lol
there are a LOT of wee things you can do to improve sales - some legit, some dam right sneaky..but thats business for ya - you will learn them as you go along, as i,m sure no one on here will tell you how they drive traffic to there web site or ebay/amazon stores..
