Hi guys.
As most will say I am working to a strict budget and but tempted by this guy - Ben - and his products. Have any of you worked with this name? They have a nice auto release 40x50 press
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/heatpress-onli ... 581&_pgn=2 for £275 but I am worried it wont last. They say 2 year warranty but what does it cover? He has a few good feedbacks but they insist you feedback on receiving the items. I will feedback the day the warranty runs out
Also interested in the full setup.
What essentials do I need?
How best to make it pay, find jobs?
Transfer or sub?
Who do I trust for cheaper items but good quality?
Where do I sign up for the discounts membership, is it £10 a year/month or week
First and foremosty I want to produce quality items. I am brand new to this game so all help is useful.

Hi Spike
I'm afraid I've never used them but the presses look like all the other cheap presses on ebay. They say they have a 2yr warranty but if you phone in a few months time because it's broke will they actually fix or replace? After so many days it's too late to leave bad feedback or claim money through Paypal. I would save up and buy second hand or go with a more reputable supplier, google BMS / Printerowners, coralgraph, xpres, the magic touch, novachrome. If you have a read of the forum you will see loads of suppliers coming up time and time again.
The membership is £10 per year and well worth it for all the help and advice I have received over the last year and extra savings on supplies helps too.
I have found that it's all about the designs, you need to come up with designs that are different to the normal stuff you find on ebay / Amazon to build sales etc. I'm afraid if it was as easy as buying some equipment and sales pouring in then we would all be rich!

Brilliant. Thanks for the advice Lianne. A guy is selling what looks like a Stahls Hotronix for £800 on ebay (Just selling as Stahls Heat Press). It doesn't have the logo but he sounds genuine enough and he'll do it for £650. Just need to figure how to get it from London to Nottingham if I go ahead!!! Its auto release clam 40x40cm. Do you think I'd need bigger? Some are ssaying not on another forum but he has a screen printing business.
I don't have Paypal to join! I guess I should sort that out!!!

You need to decide what you want to do with it? If no bigger than A4 sized transfers then that size will be fine but if you want to do A3 then you will need bigger. Stahls is a good make but I like the swing away ones better than the clams so you have space to work. Hopefully others will come along and offer advice too.

Liannef, you actually now have 180 days to claim money back via Paypal, I know because I did it and won, over some so called dishwasher proof mugs I bought before Christmass and didn't start to get the compaints until after the Ebay cut off and when I contacted the supplier, they refused to do anything, so went to Paypal and got the lot back!

You don't need a PayPal account, you can enter card details instead of logging in.
Personally I'd always advise A3 size, especially if you're investing that much. There are a couple of Adkins on Ralawise for sale but don't discount the slightly cheaper presses on Xpres,Listawood,Transfer Press etc.

Sorry Justin. Is the 16x20 a3 or 16x16? I know one side of a3 is 43 ish cm so 16x16 not big enough is it?

Sorry to get in the middle ..try a ebay press you can buy a one for nearly 120 and they should last over a year..i hve done and it lasted over 2 years ..so my opinian ,make money from it to go for a good expensive one..you are at the start up and you dont even know the market yet so better spend money on some stocks now....

Cheers Ravi. Do you have any favourite cheap press sellers in mind? I want one that gives out heat evenly across the platen.
