Use it.... Use it lots every day OR...... lose it to a clogged head.

Never had any clogging issues with my 1500 but I tend to agree, use it every day and not just a nozzle check.

justin, is it worth moving this into the printers section ? so its there for future reference, it will get lost in the sands of time in general

Agree, keep using it, and make sure you're using a good pro level ink.
Also, don't assume that if you have problems printing that the problem is definitely the head actually being clogged, especially if you're using a CISS, then your problems are more likely to do with not enough ink getting to the head- the result is similar but the cause different.

I use my 1500 a lot, but it was idol for a while due to being ill, went back to it and it printed away no problem. Never, as yet had a blocked print head!

Worst thing for these machine is COLD, dont have it in a conservatory or cold office youll end up doing more nozzle checks than enough. Dont use chinese inks as they never grind the particles down enough and also their inks suffer from clumping. (there are a couple of chinese who use good materials but their ink is as expensive as european). As for cleaning my test epson 1400 6 colour can be left for weeks without printing and id be unfortunate to have to do more than 1 clean becuase its in a good temperature / humidity environment and uses good ink.

Nor me. Ours works each time and every time with long spells of no use!
