Hi, has anyone ever pressed vinyl onto these, glitterflex at that.
http://www.btcactivewear.co.uk/store/in ... spc=SH7667
We did a test but found it left scorch marks around the area we had slightly raised up. We are not 100% sure where the glitterflex came from but we think it was MDP. They say on their website to press at 180 for 20 seconds (silver glitterflex)
Anybody have any advice on what they would try?
Thanks

The BTC site only says they are for screen printing embroidery and transfer printing not vinyl.

I've seen that before on a few things and got away with it, thought I would try. I guess I will just try some transfers on them. What kind of transfers would you personally try?

It was clothing vinyl I tried too. Tested both glitterflex and some red clothing vinyl at the same time, still leaves scorch/burn marks on the bag.

Have you checked your press temp.... you won't get a mark with a 3 second pressing.

It's a 20 second press at 180 according to MDP for silver glitterflex.

Do you suggest any specific transfers to try on them, since it suggests transfers...

Try a lower temp vinyl, it will be the temperature causing the mark along with the pressure not the vinyl. Could try a t shirt or other material between press and item to reduce temperature shock first and as arfermo says check your surface temp all over with a gun
