yep, starting to come out the other end ( no pun intended lol ) of this illness....
have had this, and will have it for life, but tabs usually mean it last for 3-7 days max..., but i can still work, just in lot of pain.
this time, it was near hospital case....doc came out 3 times and wanted me to go in...wanted the camera thing up for bowel scope...er....nah
didnt thing IBS could be this bad with stress....

That's a good pun. Gave a nice visual image so thanks for that
I knew 2 people with really bad Ibs and both were constantly chewing gum. One of them quite the gum and ibs stopped. It is not a nice illness and know it can get distressing planning whatever you do around where the nearest toilet might be. Good luck with it settling for a while.

If you haven't already followed this particular route of research, have a look at Fodmaps (worth a discussion with the doc). Something to get you started:

yeah not doing too badly but as normal more going out at times than going in, but we are surviving, despite the number of "weekend warriors" all clamouring to take a few ££££'s off the self employed - mostly they manage a month or so, see what hard work is, and then go back to their 9-5 and occasional presents for family, leaving us to remind customers that "no we never made that design" "yes i'm sorry its not worn as well as you would like" "no we cannot replace it for free, as we never made it to start with"
This year we have had more people contacting us saying so and so used to do stuff for them, but they have shut down. I think the benefits (or lack of them) has been a real issue for a lot of people, they just don't have the spare cash to buy as they did.
like you say chin up and keep putting one foot in front of the other
