Hi folks, I have now purchased my new printer with the correct inks, my husband has downloaded everything for me, and registered my printer etc.
I am about to purchase a monthly plan for Adobe, what is best, illustrator or photoshop?
I mostly print on mugs if this is any help.
Cheers folks x

If you're just starting out then PhotoShop CS2 is available free of charge. I would download this to get used to the software before subscribing to a monthly plan.

You can get a 30 day free trial of both programmes from Adobe, so you may as well try them out.
Then, if you decide on PS, then look for the "Photography Plan" as this is just under £9 a month (inc VAT) and gives you Photoshop and Lightroom, and usable on two different computers at a time.

if you have never used either, then either might be too much for you .......they are both HIGH end professional software, steep learning curve, infinitely capable .....
Illustrator best for vector images
Photoshop best for raster images
If you don't know the difference, start learning!
IMHO Corel draw offers an easier and lower cost entry and can do everything you will need

Photoshop is raster software and illustrator is vector. what you going to print? images?
if so, photoshop is for you.
People who use vector packages doing it for reason. most of them use it for cutting vinyls or designing cuttable graphics. There is NOTHING in those software packages that is good for raster images printing.
So if you planing to use one software for both printing methods than CorelDraw or illustrator. If raster than photoshop or elements s for you.
