Several years since I made canvasses and I'm finally printing them again. Corners were always the challenge but we cracked it back then.....can't for the life of me master it now though!
I've got them looking ok by trial/error...a little luck but would like them better still.
We used to cut a small section off each corner to enable them to lay flat but a few attempts didn't end well.
Watched loads of videos on YouTube which seem to make perfect sense....until I have a go myself! Anyone have a tried and tested method they'd be willing to share please? The material I'm using is quite thick but should be ok I think.

I am not a fan of cutting the corners as in my opinion the canvas should be able to be removed and restretched on another set of bars if needs be. I use hospital corners so create a crease on the 45degree at each corner then tuck one side into the opposite corner.
this is a nice way to do it

Yeah that's basically how I've been doing it, I think I need to experiment with different media as well.

I leave a little more length on the canvas so i can get a good leverage and pull it really tight flattening the corners a lot before i staple it.

I'm getting it flat enough but as its layering up there is a line where the lower but us covered....if that makes sense?! Maybe this is usual, others seem intent on crisp flat corners.

only way to get them completely flat is to cut them completely but as its on bottom and top of canvas i really dont think its needed noone will be looking at it

I have been using this method, original on youtube but created a step guide as it is easier to follow. The cords allow me to create a full wrap on 12" bars using a 17" printer. Initially sewed additional canvas to provide enough for the stretching pliers but now just use the straps.

Thanks for the guide, will have a go this weekend
Are the straps a standard off the shelf tool?

Anybody use these? Hahnemuhle's Gallerie Wrap Professional
Looks like a great solution but comes at a price. I think other local companies may be using something like this as the corners look the same

Doesn't look as though it would be that tricky to create a similar system....says he! I see other systems in the US which are far cheaper already.
