Hi Guys,

My name is Adrian. I'm looking to start a custom phone case production soon in South East Asia. After extensive reading this are my findings on how to proceed. I hope to get your advise and recommendations on the below.

1. Pick an old proven presser ST 3042 (Cant afford Europe Presser)
2. Epson is harder to manage with better quality while Ricoh is easier to handle (Decided on Ricoh)
3. There are no other better and consistent ink for Ricoh other than SubliJet (Ease of mind color accuracy)
4. Purchase your ink and sub paper from the same supplier
5. Phone case corners issue can be resolved with proper taping

I'll be very privilege if some experienced forumers can highlight any wrong understanding that I may have as well as recommend a good supplier for me to deal with for my future purchase of consumables.

Pretty much spot on there..

Do a search on this forum for CORNERS WE CAN CRACK IT (I think that was the headline), I use the following method for corners which never fails...

long strip of heat tape placed on table with sticky side up
place printed dye sub paper on tape
place blank on top of paper
Slice from each corner of the phone case to each corner of the paper at an angle
At this point make sure that your paper does not over hang your phone case by more than 10mm
Once puck is hot take puck out of machine, place on top and then use tape to wrap sheet, case and puck together top and bottom and then put back and press

The above is quite a bad explanation, but a search will show you pictures of this full proof method

Good luck in your venture and lastly, I recommend that you get good quality jigs and if finance allows, try and purchase broken actual phones instead of dummies. That way, when you fit the case to the phone (for testing), you know you have the actual product and not a fake.

Thank you so much Giraffe. Based on your experience which supplier has the good quality jiggs that doesn't stain? Is it the golden one from Sunfly?

Yes, however you can always clean them with a bit of emery paper should you get a stain appearing.
