Hi,

I'm wanting to check to see if the mugs I've pressed are safe, I was advised to put them in boiling water after pressing. But I can't remember if this has to be straight away, after taking out of the oven, or after they have cooled?

Can anyone shed any light on this for me please, it would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Straight out of the press into hot water does not have to be boiling ASAP, some even use room temperature water.

Does two things...... stops the printing in a controllable manner and identifies faulty mugs as they will ping.

No everyone does this some even argue against it. Some just leave to cool, some put under a fan.

I do it, into very hot water, not often gets a ping but if it does then faulty mug discovered and may have avoided someone getting scalded! Also as said it stops the process in a time controlled way which can improve results. I've never done it any other way though.
