Hi,

I'm looking into printing posters (A3 and A4) and am trying to find a printer that will print posters on gloss paper (the type that posters are printed on that are sold in shops.) I've tried printing on a Canon printer, and although the prints are fantastic photo quality, they look and feel like photographs. The paper isn't the same as posters I've bought in shops or online.

I typed 'gloss paper' and 'silk paper' into Ebay, but the only paper that fits this description is compatible with laser printers. So I'm wondering, are laser printers the answer for posters?

you will never achieve the gloss of shop posters ....
laSER PRINTERS ARE MORE FUSSY ABOUT PAPER STOCK -
gloss art paper probably wont fuse in a laser ... and inkjet - probably not dry ..
photo paper through inkjet will look fab - but cost ....and maybe too glossy?

Excellent for large brochures and for A3 posters because even when printing only on one side the double coating means that the paper does not curl as it tends to do when only on side is coated. Thin enough for lightweight laminating. Quick drying too.

Hey thanks, this is great, just the kind of thing I'm looking for!

I might get around to ordering some myself. I've always wanted to know what this paper was like. I may have uses for it.
