Hi All

I see that BMS are selling SG400 printers with a full set of inks for £249 plus the vat which on the face of it looks very good especially when combined with free delivery on orders over £100

I just checked with them and its a full set of retail cartridges ie full capacity and they are dated Dec 2021 and Jan 2022.

Does seem to be a good offer - or have I missed something in my cabin fevered haze of self isolation?

Sounds like a very good deal IF you want to use Sawgrass products. Shows how much margin SG have in their printers. They are probably happy to earn less on the printer and make on the ink going forward.
Maybe not so good a deal if you are happy to use Epson printers.

I genuinely can't believe any of the Supplier aren't interested in trying to promote these printers through the forum to members or even take the time to announce them.

I have just had a poke around and found the SG500 and SG1000 - but only in the US and no objective reviews or direct comparissons with SG400/800 or 3110/7200 just gung ho sales telling us we should buy them because THEY say the colours are more vibrant and the software has been improved. They seem to be making a big thing of being able to print at an ultra high resolution on high quality blanks. Anyone know the resolution of Chromalux sheet? I would be very surprised if it was much more than 300dpi, maybe 600dpi at a push and so any resolution higher than that is just a waste of time or meaningless sales spiel? Rather smacks of the hype that was rife in the colour inkjet photographic world some years ago.

Can only assume these are not available in the UK yet and therefore a UK price point hasn't been set?????

Side issue:

The following two images are on the Sawgrass website. Does it piss anyone else off when they publish photos like this on a website dedicated to sublimation printers. The simple fact is that neither of these images are achievable by sublimation and yet, you will get some people purchasing the printer and then popping along with questions on how to achieve the effect in the photo.

Its miss selling and they should be responsible and stop it.
