Hi all

As far as I'm aware there's no vinyl that can be used with fleece?

Is this still so?

I did it years ago, it works but crushes the pile. If you put a piece of fleece reversed over the top when pressing it helps but still not pretty.

Yes, other than embroidery it seems there's not a lot you can do with fleece - the ones we have a quite expensive HiViz fleece too!

It all depends on how tight the fleece weave is.

You could try flock, I have used it in the past and it has looked pretty good.

Other than that, if it’s hi vis, you can sublimate it.

I think my only option will be to embroider as heat pressing is going to flatten the fleece as mentioned by justin.

I agree, that weave looks pretty “loose” and, like you have said, it will flatten.

Text and detail is difficult to press onto vinyl, but a contour cut printed badge is just about ok. You will need to use a very small platen to avoid crushing the fabric, or put a small platen foam pad behind the badge.

Actually PW66 has just made me think of something.

Take a look at the website Ready-Range which has sublimation patches.

I use these on beanies and they work really really well.

Low order quantities, lots of different shapes and sizes and choice of edge etc make them very versatile.

I'm gonna pass on vinyl on fleece - it's not worth the risk.

Wise choice. It is just about possible, but in my opinion never gives a true professional finish.
