Re: XP5013 mugs + Genie III press timings

Post by Baldy »

Can anybody recommend a time+temp for pressing the xp5013 mugs using a Genie III press please?

The Xpres product page recommends pressing these mugs at 180c for 200secs, which sounds a bit high considering I press the 10oz Listawood ones at 170c for 45secs.
Any advice welcomed as given the current mug situation, I don't ideally want to be wasting precious mugs if I can help it.

Interesting, I press Listawood at the same ballpark as any other mug, 180c ish for 200 sec's ish. That's Using Adkins and GK. I couldn't keep up with the presses as 45 secs!

Note doesn't help with Xpres mugs. Not much use am I.

Is that from when you pop the mug in or from when it hits 180c?
I just went with LW's recommendation of 170c (165c idle), popping the mug in at 165c with the 45sec timer starting once it hits 170c...although thinking about it, when you take into account the time to get up to temp, it may be around the same sort of times. I'll have to have a play when I have more mugs to spare.

That's from popping it in. Must admit I've never read the instructions on Listawood's site.
