If I start a print job after loading the vinyl or after a day of non printing I get smudging on the first inch in the centre.

I have checked the printer under the vinyl and there’s no raised areas or lumps etc.
and if I pull a few inches of vinyl through so it overhangs it’s perfectly fine.

im assuming it must be vinyl curling causing the print head to rub on the vinyl?
Is there a way to cure this other than pulling the extra through every time I walk away for a period of time.

yes it is vinyl curling. On any roland video you will see that they recommend pulling at least 30cm. Is really winding me up as I could make £200 out of that piece

Its gutting especially when it ruins a whole line of print and you have to start again.
On a plus note I love this machine it’s quality even on draft print is amazing.

My only gripe is the waste tank is 40% already and it was brand new when I got the machine. At This rate I’m going to need to change it every 6 months.

you can get inserts only from digisupplies. bit messy but cheaper. but to be honest, you can buy spill kits and use that. some people through old t-shirts inside :)
