I have an Epson 1500W which had been left unused for close to a year. I've set it up again. The magenta was blocked, so did the usual head cleans and left it.

I have a perfect nozzle check, but I'm getting overspray around the edges of the design. They are usually pure magenta and black spray dots.

I left the print head soaking in a 70% IPA soaked J cloth. It helped a little. Tried running lots of prints but no luck.

The Inktec Smart ink is probably out of date, but that usually isn't an issue.

Any thoughts?

Any chance the head hasn’t been put back properly?

Just thinking that there might be a larger gap between paper and print head than the printer is expecting and that might cause it.

Clutching at straws with that though.

Fixed. New CISS, fresh in-date ink, cleaned all nozzles with IPA. One of them done it.
