Re: Colour issue after refilling ecotank

Hello all,

I’ve got a Epsom ET2750 with Sublinova ink which normally prints great and as true to colour as I need, however yesterday I refilled this with the remainder of the inks supplied with the printer a few months ago. Printer supplied with ink from Ink experts. Class 1 service!

These inks were sealed with cling film over the lids and then screwed tight.

Printing today the magenta appears well off and is more vibrant than what I previously had which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but no way near the colour I’m trying to achieve.

The ICC profile, mugs and paper are all the same as before and none of that has changed.

I’m thinking it is to do with the refilled ink possibly as the ink in the tank has been exposed to air for some time and the new ink hasn’t?

Any ideas / solutions would really help.

Thanks

Jabman

it sounds like either the ink has a different tone to it and from another batch, or like you say exposed to air and so the new ink is different. have you contacted ink experts?

i personally never had this issue though my ink is from cityinkexpress as well as the paper use.

Update

After around 12 hours of refill the printer the colour returned to normal.

No other variables that I could see.

Will be interesting to see when I refill again.

Looks as if exposure to the air for a while caused the change.

Thanks for the help
