Sadly price rises happening again and it seems the giant Xpres are again putting up prices for the 2nd time in a year. I've had a run down of items we use and it seems that everything is basically going up by 10-15% across the board. For instance Unisub coasters going from £21.95 to £25.95 (prior to any DSF discount - if that continues mind!) and 10oz mugs (5013) from £39 to £42.90.

It seems that it's shipping costs causing this. I was told that a container of mugs that cost £2,000 last year is now £12,000.

Trouble is the customer doesn't want to pay anymore for the finished article.

The only plus side is that everyone is in the same boat. Passing on costs or at least a substantial chunk is the only way now. This will be going on for most of next year. Most of us have already been weathering the storm and trying to hold prices down. Problem is then that holding off for the first couple of rises just makes the price jump even bigger to the customer when it all comes at once. With the Living Wage taking a big jump in a few months things are only going up this year. My advice would be to get a price rise in for New Year and another with the wage rise. Increases have been too much this last 12 months to not pass on. Those who are frightened to pass them on won't last that much longer. Cost hikes have all been reported well so should be no surprise. If customers kick off that much then they are not worth having.

Cost hikes are happening everywhere. This time it cannot be blamed on Brexit, in Germany and the rest of Europe we have our price rises too. Cost of containers , transport etc.
I pass these price rises onto my customers. If I dont I will die.

We are facing an aggregation of several price rises over several years across the entire product range. None on their own warrant a price rise - it is difficult to put something up 10 pence - but after continued rises something has got to give. There is always someone somewhere prepared to work for very little.
The few mugs and other hard substrate items I do are not a problem... yet.
I am finding it hard to increase garment pricing at the moment. Whenever I quote the customer for a branded product (Result, Regatta, Bagbase etc) they can find the same blank product at retail online or on Amazon for close to the price I am paying at wholesale. Way too many people willing to work for 10% margin.

Prices are going very high... Paying for a box of 36 11oz. mugs nearly £50 or even more is crazy... Customer won't paid the money you ask for bulk mugs with the currently prices from our mugs suppliers.

Oh god! That is not good news, especially for those 5103 mug users.
