Hi,

We are new here. Just did our introduction. We have done heat press transfers on tshirts, sublimation cups, banks, ornaments, and hats. We are still getting our feet wet. We recently had a customer ask us to print on a brass zippo flip litter. My guess is that it is not coated with sublimation coating. So, would we need to put a sublimation coating on it and than heat press it. Or, is there another way we can transfer the design to the lighter by ourselves?

Thanks

Hi. I doubt whether spray-on sublimation coating would produce good results, especially for selling on to a customer. Believe me, if these sprays were as good as some make them out to be then everyone in the business would be using them.

Also, if the design is to be placed over a brass substrate, all white areas in the design will appear as the brass colour and other colours will be attenuated, so a lot would depend on exactly what the customer wants printed and their expectations for the final result.

Most Zippo lighter sublimation blanks available for sale are white.

For a brass, non-sub lighter, engraving may be the best way to place a design on it.

Can you engrave a multicolor design?

Thanks

What type of engraver would you use? Laser engraver? others?

If you want a direct print I can do this for you, I print thousands of lighters for a few of heavy metal groups. Drop me a DM if you want to know more.
