Hi

Watching some YouTube videos on how to press acrylic blocks and noticed that most of them were using a silicone sheet while pressing. Does anyone know if this is required and for what reason?

I press ChromaLuxe Aluminium Panels and have the fabric required for that – will that suffice?

Thanks!

Acrylic gets soft when you heat it and will pick up any texture from the platens or Teflon sheets, silicon is smooth and won't leave a pattern on the acrylic
