Re: *new to sublimation* Hardboard coaster problems

Post by Lee_2023 »

Hi I’m new to sublimation. It’s my first week using my setup (epson sc-f500 and galaxy swing press). Lots of hiccups, but most I think are teething problems and getting used to the equipment and experimenting.

However I seem to be having a major issue with hardboard coasters. The tops are peeling off, splitting and lifting. I have pressed the coasters with the sublimation paper and artwork to the top of the press and every coaster I have done results in some form of lifting despite using suppliers recommended heat temps, times and pressures.

what could be causing this? I’m out of ideas to try. 😞. Many thanks in advanced.

Terrible coasters are your problem. Grab some unisub ones and do at 180c for 85s.

I've given up on MDF coasters due to warping, now switched to aluminium coasters

Hi Paul,

Where can I find the aluminium coasters you are talking about? Do you have any links please?

Thanks
Adam
