Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a bit of advice, I've found a 2nd hand bundle for an
Epson Surecolor F2000, Shulze Pretreatmaker IV, Hotronix STX20 Auto Open Clam Press 40x50cm, Small, Medium & Large Platens for the Epson and Digital Factory V.3 Rip Software

all for £2250, everything is suppose to be working, the Epson is a maybe as that was cleaned and put in storage at the start of covid, and has no white ink, but other inks present. So is sold as seen.
I'm looking to get into a DTG but with out the Epson working or being able to see it printing. Would it be too much of a gamble to go for it, if there is issues with the Epson?

I know its a bit old now, but would it be a good machine to start out on?

Are there any questions you would ask about it, to find information out?

A new print head is likely to be in the region of £1500 plus fitting. The printhead is virtually a consumable part, and after sitting for a couple of years it is likely to need replacing soon.
When you say there is no white ink do you mean that white is empty or that the machine is just CMYK? If it is the latter then you will be limited to white only t-shirts.

The new cost of the press and pretreater is about the same as the price being asked for the bundle. If the printer isn't working then you are basically paying full price for a second hand press and pre treater.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking.

No white ink as in, it was cleaned before storage, is empty and no white cartridges with the machine. There are the other colours in the system (if that is how to describe it)

dont do it.
but if you do, epson provide service promising to fix anything that is wrong with your machine for fixed fee of about £1900 ish. even if they fix it and machine will be like new, read about nightmare those machines are for maintenance.
