continued from previous, thanks Ian that worked fine, i have found on a site my ideal temp for t shirt transfers for this machine are:-

DARK TRANSFER = 160 DEGREE and 15 SECONDS
LIGHT TRANSFER = 180 DEGREE and 25 SECONDS

does this sound about right? i presume my machine operates in celcius, i have some transfers on order and a few old tshirts to carry out lots of practice on. i havent purchased a printer yet.

are you working in celcius or fareinheight ?? what types of transfers have you bought ? they should come with a time & temp guide with them.

still seem to be having problems, i set machine to 100 degrees just to test. left it on for 10 mins i guessed it was at temperature, it was certainly very hot!!. it doesnt tell you what temp its currently at and it didnt beep after 10 mins, it beeps to tell you when the time u set counts down to zero.

Do you have a light that appears to be on somewhere when you switch on and perhaps goes off to indicate that it is up to temperature?

no, i have a power on light incorporated in the power button, when i switch it on i set the temp to 100, press ok, set the time to 10 seconds, press ok again, then its just got a zero on the screen, i left it for 10 minutes then pressed ok and the time started to count down, when it gets to zero you here a click noise, but no beeps or anything. i presume it should be at temp in 10 minutes!!

Yes should easily get to 100 in 10 minutes. Do you have an infra-red thermometer to check the temperature of the heat platen?

Have you got the press in the open position when testing the timer as most timers only sound when in the closed position?

i had it in the open position, just tried it in the closed position and it beeps!! so that part is that sorted thanks!!

i dont have a infra red thermometer to test. when its cold i think i should set it at a low temp, leave it for 10 minutes and see if it stays quite cool or continues to get hotter and hotter, as i set it to 100 and it was really really hot but obviously 100 degrees is hot anyway

Your wasting your time - you'll soon know once you try sublimation, vinyl or transfers etc. If the temp is right it'll work fine, if its wrong then you'll have trouble.
